7.30 pm start to 9.30pm Constructive Critic Evening” meeting in the Court House among the members .

Show some of your finished or unfinished artwork for feedback from other members Free to members.

Tue 14th November David Satchel Portrait Drawing – Courthouse

Tuesday, November 14th 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Berkhamsted Courthouse

David is holding a portrait workshop. Members can draw themselves in a mirror, or take turns to draw each other or copy a good size photograph of their favourite person.  David will advise on where to start, what to look for and how take a suitable photograph to draw from. This should be a light hearted evening and more experienced artists can ignore him and still enjoy the fun! Members should bring their own materials.

Tue 20th February Mark Warner Zoom Demo

Demonstration Woodland Scene in Acrylics

20th  February  2024 Zoom Meeting  7pm -9pm

Mark draws inspiration from the landscape, although subject matter and application at times can be very different. He adores using colour and line while interpreting the light, weather conditions and a love for the materials. https://community.saa.co.uk/artists/mark-warner/

Tue 19th March Ian Jones – Handbuilding in Clay/Throwing Demo Courthouse

Tuesday 19th March  7.30pm – 9.30pm Berkhamsted Court house

Ian will lead the two-hour workshop when participants will be shown how to build a 3D Chicken in Clay. This will be followed by a brief demo with Ian throwing a couple of pots on the potter’s wheel.

The Chickens will be dried and Bisque-fired and a one-hour session will be run at a later date to apply
colour to the features and add a white glaze to the pieces. The creations will then be glaze-fired ready for collection.

Clay and tools will be provided

Thu 21st March Monthly Social Evening @ The George

We know from the recent survey that lots of you would like to chat with other members, but aren’t free during the day to come to the coffee morning. So we’ve organised an evening social – from 7.30pm on Thursday 21 March at The George Inn (the big table at the back of the pub), High Street, Berkhamsted. It will also be a chance for potential new members to find out more about the Society. Katie Jones has offered to be the friendly face that greets you – welcoming members and letting anyone’s who’s interested know what we offer and how to join. Just pop it in your diary and hopefully see you on the night!

Mon 8th May Summer Drawing Evenings 2024 -May

Summer drawing Monday evenings will be May 6 until  August 19 at 6.30pm, weather permitting. Please call David Satchel on 07749 038 148 or email him on [email protected] earlier than Monday to find out how many others are going. This should avoid members sketching on their own.
